“Monster Sex Fiend (In 3-D)” Censored Once More

Posted in Announcements, Steve Stones with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 9, 2011 by Steve Stones Art

Steve Stones’ “Monster Sex Fiend (In 3-D)” has been censored twice in the Ogden area.

Those of you who’ve been following Steve Stones’ art for the past few months know that his work entitled “Monster Sex Fiend (in 3-D)” was censored at the North Ogden Arts Festival last August; however, despite its notoriety, the artwork sold a few weeks later. Stones repainted a variation of “Monster Sex Fiend (in 3-D)” of a larger scale and hung it on display at the Carnival of Chaos haunted house located on Riverdale Road.

Stones stated that he felt the piece was in line with a theme of the spook alley, which is “The Seven Deadly Sins.” However, Stones was surprised when he received a phone call requesting that he retrieve “Monster Sex Fiend (in 3-D)” after complaints were lodged due to the word “Sex.”
Management members overseeing Carnival of Chaos didn’t want to give the overall impression that the haunted house was advocating sex; therefore, “Monster Sex Fiend (in 3-D)” was immediately removed from the wall.

Remember folks, while enjoying your experience at the Carnival of Chaos, please keep in mind that even though you may see simulated murders and other psychotic anti-social behaviors, paired with  concepts of greed, wrath, sloth, pride, envy, lust and gluttony, that Carnival of Chaos does not advocate sex.

Carnival Of Chaos Now Open For Business!

Posted in Announcements, Steve Stones with tags , , , , , , , , , on September 29, 2011 by Steve Stones Art

The opening season of Carnival of Chaos, a new haunted house located at the old Wal-Mart building on Riverdale Road, began last Friday. Hours to the spook alley are from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and from 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Proceeds from Carnival of Chaos benefit Children’s Service Society, an organization that began serving the community over a century ago. Children’s Service Society provides guidance to families in need of counseling and support, and also assists in placement of children.

Although the season is already underway, additional volunteers are needed to lend their talents. Facilitator Andrew Wilson states, “We are always looking for good actors and others who are willing to volunteer their time. We need builders, set designers, costume people and leads.”

Themes of the haunted house will hopefully include a large man who will be paid to act the role of a glutton. If you or anyone you know would like to participate, please contact Wilson to arrange for an interview or an audition.
