Another Ogden Arts Festival has passed, and boy did we have a good time! A BIG THANK YOU to all of the people of O-Town who stopped by to make this year’s event a great success! Stones was interviewed by his friend Farrell Lafferty and will be featured on an upcoming episode of Crowd Surfing. Stones was also interviewed by the crew of Weber State University’s Signpost. For those of you who didn’t have the opportunity to join the fun at the 2014 Ogden Arts Festival, we’re looking forward to participating in this year’s Farmers and Art Market Sidewalk Sale, and are thankful for the sponsorship of our friends at Sock Monkey ‘N Around for the 2014 season. For all of you night owls, if you get a chance stop by Mojos to check out the various works of Stones, local bands, and other up-and-coming artists.

We’ve just received good news that Steve Stones will be having an exhibit from March 1 through April 2 at Ogden Union Station‘s Gallery at the Station.

Stones received a phone call from the Union Station’s Director Roberta Beverly, who expressed an interest in having him show during the Hostlers Model Railroad Festival and enthusiastically stated,”It’s so much fun to have Steve show with us, he’s such a great guy.”  We couldn’t agree more!

The Hostlers Model Railroad Festival will begin on March 1 and continue through March 3. Although looking at the art exhibit is free for everyone, admission for the Hostlers Model Railroad Festival is $6 and children 12 and under are admitted for free.

With January in full swing, the time for making resolutions for the New Year has passed. While many people are hitting the gym, Steve Stones is preparing works to be shown at the various local opportunities throughout the year.

Stones, who is bringing color to canvas for his 2013 entry of the “Traces of the West Exhibit” and hoping  the Ogden Union Station will host it this year, states “It’s important for me seize upcoming opportunities and plan ahead of time.”

But, “Traces of the West” isn’t the only opportunity on Stones’ mind, “I’ve got that show at Grounds for Coffee in October and the Plein Air in June, which they have before the Ogden Arts Festival. It’s important for artists to contribute to local culture by showing their work and getting it out in front of the art s community for them to enjoy and respond to,” he adds.

Many interested artists ask about entering the Annual Ogden Arts Festival, which is typically held in early June. Artists are encouraged to turn in their applications online through Zapplication until the deadline on March 13.
